(1) The initial phase is followed by the abrupt development of clinical symptoms such as fever, diaphoresis , hemorrhagic meningitis, and shock.(2) Other nighttime symptoms frequently reported by parents include mouth breathing, diaphoresis , paradoxic rib-cage movement, restlessness, frequent awakenings, and witnessed apneic episodes.(3) If it becomes necessary to decrease or discontinue a patient's opioid therapy, a downward titration should be used so as not to precipitate withdrawal symptoms (chills, diaphoresis , abdominal cramping, vomiting).(4) The first phase of toxicity includes anorexia, nausea, vomiting, malaise, and diaphoresis - symptoms for which acetaminophen may be administered.(5) The classic symptoms include headache, diaphoresis , palpitations, and paroxysmal hypertension.
