(1) There was ankylosis of both sacroiliac joints.(2) Only erosive osteoarthritis has erosions and ankylosis .(3) This condition, known as TMJ ankylosis , needs to be identified and corrected in childhood to restore jaw function and facial harmony.(4) Spondylitis means inflammation of the spine, and ankylosis means that a joint has become fixed solid so that it cannot bend.(5) X-rays taken on March 20 showed that Peltier suffered from ankylosis on both sides of his mandible, meaning that his jaw was completely frozen and immobile.(6) Pain relief and frequent passive movements prevent contractures and joint ankylosis .(7) In 7 patients with 11 replanted teeth diagnosed with ankylosis (group B), teeth were extracted, ankylotic sites removed, and EMD placed similarly.(8) In adults, movement can be restored by removing the ankylotic mass with reconstruction using either a costrochondral graft or alloplastic joint prostheses.(9) The treatment plan provides the extraction of the ankylotic deciduous molars and their replacement with implant-borne single crowns.(10) A preauricular approach was made exposing the ankylotic segment which was extensively resectioned and a new glenoid cavity was created.(11) In cases of Temporomandibular tightness, the joint itself may become fibrotic, or even (in rare cases) ankylotic .
