(1) Episcleritis and iritis have also been reported to occur in patients with rosacea.(2) The most common cause of iritis is juvenile rheumatoid arthritis.(3) Scratchy, well defined pain indicates a corneal problem, whereas a dull, deeper pain usually indicates a more serious condition (such as acute angle closure glaucoma, iritis , or scleritis).(4) Although rare, complications such as bacterial infection, ulceration or iritis can develop if the abrasion is not treated.(5) The most common type of uveitis is an inflammation of the iris called iritis (anterior uveitis).(6) Washing the eye at 30 seconds alleviated the conjunctival and iritic symptoms and prevented the development of corneal lesions.(7) Mild lacrimation, but no corneal or iritic effect, was seen after solution was sprayed directly into the eyes of rabbits.(8) Different conditions may cause secondary open angle glaucoma, these include pigment dispersion glaucoma, pseudoexfoliation glaucoma, iritic glaucoma and post traumatic glaucoma.(9) Corneal disease was the most common cause of blindness in study groups, followed by iritic disease and cataract while the main cause of poor vision was cataract, then corneal and iritic diseases.(10) An eye dosed with the compound and promptly washed had slight conjunctivitis which no corneal or iritic effect and was normal within 3 days.
