(1) As the apostle Paul described in his epistles to the Corinthian and Galatian churches, many people are far too willing to lead, or be led off, into apostasy after they have known and understood the Word of God.(2) Paul exhorts the Galatians to live not as children of Hagar, a slave, but as children of Sarah, one who is free.(3) Our next step will be to compare the material culture of the pre- Galatian and Galatian settlements.(4) But for some reason Paul refrains from actively promoting the collection in the Galatian letter.(5) I wrote this section months ago; and I now wonder whether my understanding of Paul's argument in Romans and Galatians is consistent with the ‘new perspective’ on Paul.
